Exploring Cape Cod’s Rich Natural History

A fun place to visit while enjoying your stay at Bayside Resort Hotel in Cape Cod is none other than its very own Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. This is an exciting place for learning and exploring the environment we live in as well as Cape Cod’s local history.

Fascinating Collections & Exhibits

The museum offers collections-based exhibits, including whales and birds; live marine exhibits, educational programs for adults and children, and many off-site nature tours. The grounds have three nature trails and a wildflower garden.

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History was founded with the objective of encouraging and enabling everyone of Cape Cod to study the plant, animal, and marine life that thrives in Cape Cod while opening their eyes to their relationship to the natural world around them. The museum lives up to its mission this day over 60 years later having gone from a tent on the beach to a 17,000 square foot building. This museum is a center of nature education and is a fun way to spend a day with the family.

Cape Cod Maritime History Symposium

Join the museum this upcoming weekend on Saturday, May 31 for its 18th Annual Cape Cod Maritime History Symposium. The speakers featured will talk about maps of Cape Cod, the engineering of the Cape Cod Canal, Cape Cod during the War of 1812, and even lost pirate loot treasures found along the coastline since settlement. The event lasts from 9:30am until 2:30pm and includes coffee and noon Luncheon. Pre-registration is required; call 508-896-3867 to book your space.
