Natural Learning Environment

Founded in 1954, the museum’s main building consists of two floors of exhibits focused on all the varied flora and fauna of the Cape Cod area.

With a mission of encouraging and advancing understanding of our natural environment through discovery and learning, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History includes exhibits on birds, whales, and all manner of coastal geographic and biological issues, as well as periodic temporary special exhibits.

Guided Tours

There are also a number of aquarium exhibits featuring several different species of snakes, turtles, frogs, fish, mollusks and crustaceans. And, if you feel like getting out and experiencing nature, well naturally there are three walking trails that wind through the woodland, salt marsh and shoreline of the surrounding area. Guided walking tours are offered year round.

Lectures and workshops on natural history topics are offered year round as well, and there are several cool programs for children. Don’t forget to visit the museum gift shop and library while you’re there.
