Three Off-the-Beaten Path Activities to Do on Cape Cod in Winter

Do More Than Just Survive Cape Cod in the Winter

We know there are an abundance of activities – swim, sun, and sand – on Cape Cod during the summer. But guess what? The winter months can be just as fun. Don’t hide inside during the coldest winter months. Grab a cup of Joe or cocoa and enjoy these off-the-beaten path excursions.

Winter Horseback Riding

Hit the snow-packed trails at Emerald Hollow Farm in Brewster. Owners Nancy and Jim Sheridan are open year-round, weather permitting for hour long and 90 minute trail rides. While the trails can be hilly, the horses, equipped with special snow shoes, make their way at a leisurely walking pace.

Sip Some Tea

Nothing warms you up from the inside out like a well-made cup of hot tea. Head into Borsari Gallery and Village Tea Room in Dennis Village to enjoy a pot of tea (our favorite is the Jasmine Green Tea), indulge in delicious scones and admire the colorful artwork on the old barn walls. Scottish Tea Master George Davidson, who has run some of the finest hotels in Europe, will ensure that you have a relaxing experience.

Rock Climb to New Heights

Embrace your sense of adventure and head to the 30-foot indoor rock climbing wall at Willy’s Gym in Eastham. The gym and the climbing wall are open year-round making it an accessible spot to work up a sweat. No membership is required and you can rent gear for only $3 and to climb and rent equipment is $25.
