The annual Wellfleet OysterFest takes place the weekend after Columbus Day in Wellfleet MA.

The two-day party celebrates Cape Cod’s famous oysters, clams and other shellfishing traditions. The festival also brings together locals and visitors alike for a weekend full of hometown flavor and BIG fun for the whole family.

What To See And Do At The OysterFest

During the festival, the town center of Wellfleet becomes a walking district, offering something for everyone: food, arts and crafts, children’s activities, educational exhibits, live music and, of course, the famous Oyster Shuck-Off competition.

If you don’t like crowds, there are several satellite events happening away from the center of town – many with a beautiful harbor as a backdrop. Some of those events include beachcombing, bird walks, a 5K road race, cooking demonstrations, tasting seminars, book talks, and oyster grant tours.

The Wellfleet OysterFest is affordable too. So affordable, in fact, families have a FREE children’s area to explore with a moonbounce, pumpkin decorating, face painting, oyster jewelry making, a steel drum workshop, sing-a-longs and more!
